Down the Bussell Highway past Vasse and Cowaramup, with cellar doors on both sides for the last twenty minutes. No bus runs from the terminal, so it is a hire car, a taxi or a pre-booked transfer.

Uber has operated in Busselton, Dunsborough and Bunbury since 2018 and its Busselton page advertises UberX pickups from the airport. The driver pool is small: expect a wait outside peak times and do not count on a late-night ride. Margaret River township was still waiting on its Uber launch as of July 2026, with Uber recruiting drivers. DiDi also operates in Busselton. The airport has a signposted rideshare pick-up area outside the terminal.

One-man private driver service run by a former cellar-door and luxury-hotel worker; airport transfers to and from Busselton Airport are flight-tracked, and the site is unusually clear about what counts as a transfer versus a private-driver booking. Cowaramup, 37 minutes from the airport, is the natural halfway stop for a coffee among the fibreglass cows. Vasse Felix and Cullen Wines sit minutes off the highway at Wilyabrup, and the Margaret River Chocolate Company factory at Metricup is the stop for children. Margaret River township is about 54 km from Busselton Airport, roughly 49 minutes by car via the Bussell Highway. Prevelly and the surf beaches are about 57 minutes.
No. No scheduled bus serves the terminal. South West Coach Lines runs Busselton town to Margaret River a few times a day, and Transwa's SW1 stops in Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River, but neither calls at the airport. Hire a car, take a taxi, or pre-book a transfer.

Perth Airport is served by more than 20 international, domestic and regional airlines, so it has far more flights to choose from, but the Margaret River Region is about a three-hour drive from it (three to four hours allowing for stops) and the same again on the way back. Busselton Airport has only Jetstar's three-a-week Melbourne and Sydney services, but it is about 10 minutes from Busselton and 45 minutes from Margaret River, so you can be at a cellar door within the hour. For a short trip from the east coast the direct flight saves most of a day; if you need daily departures, come from overseas, or want to combine Perth with the South West, fly into Perth and drive the Forrest Highway and the new Wilman Wadandi Highway bypass.
